The Rights of the Holy Quran on Muslims

Quran is a sacred book, it is the final message of Allah for the humans. Holy Quran is unparallel in its completeness and teachings. Quran says about itself that “Truth (Quran) has come, and falsehood has vanished”. Quran explains the knowledge and power of Allah.

This honorable and glorious book has some rights, which are explained as followed:

BELIEVE IN QURAN

The first and the most important right of Quran is to believe in Quran as this is a book of which there is no doubt. The basic message of Quran is to believe in Allah and His messenger. To be a Muslim it is compulsory to believe in it. Allah grants stability to those who believe. It is obligatory for all the Muslims to have faith in Quran and its teachings.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:

It explains the promises of Allah to the believers who follow the instructions of Allah.

RECITE QURAN

Holy Quran is most widely read and recited book among all the books of the world. it is the right of Quran to be honored and respected as it is the word of Almighty Allah. Reading Quran uncovers its melodious message. Quran is the way to communicate to the creator. The recitation also helps in relaxing and healing.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: Decorate the Quran with your (good) voices.

The people who recite Quran regularly, Quran will lead them towards paradise. As a Muslim we should recite Quran as it is undoubtedly the word of ALLAH. The importance of recitation is clear, you will get 10 rewards for reciting a single letter of Quran.

Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said that: “Read the Quran, for verily it will come on the Day of Standing as an intercessor for its companions.” (Muslim)

Holy Quran will help a Muslim on the day of judgement in adverse condition.

UNDERSTAND QURAN

Understand Quran as its teachings will lead you towards right direction. Your position in the paradise is determined by the level of understanding Quran. There is wisdom in each and every word of Quran, it only requires concentration and ponder to uncover it.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: When Allah wishes good for someone, he bestows upon him the understanding of religion.

IMPLEMENT ITS TEACHINGS

Implementing the guidelines of the Quran will enable you to be a good Muslim. Following Quran is the basic purpose of its revelation. In Quran Allah has answered every questions of humans. He has told how to react in any situation. As a Muslim it is compulsory to follow the teachings of Quran in every aspect of life. When you will explore the light of Quran, only than you will be able to fulfil your duty as a Muslim. As Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is the practical example of the teachings of quiring. We as Muslims have to follow his life along with the teachings of Quran. We have to mold ourselves according to the teachings of Islam.

SPREAD THE MESSAGE OF QURAN

Your duty as a Muslim does not end after reciting, understanding and believing in Quran, its message demands to be spread to other people. You have to make people aware about the teachings of Islam. If you will teach Quran to others you will get reward. It is your duty to teach, clarify and spread the message of Islam.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: The best of you are the ones who learn the Quran and teach it to others.
